Spring weather for Christmas and New Year

During the Christmas weekend, almost all of Greece will experience good weather with temperatures reaching 20°C. The warm weather will last at least until the New Year holidays.

From Friday, December 22nd through New Year’s Day, weather conditions will be excellent for the season, according to the National Weather Service. This is the only good news in a country where poverty, debt and destitution savagely hit at least 40% of the population.

Cloudy with occasional localized rain in the west, south and east of the Aegean, isolated thunderstorms in the Dodecanese until midday. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies, mainly in the north, where there will be local short-term rain and light snowfall in the mountains.

The wind will be from the west/southwest from 3 to 5, in the south to 6 and gradually from midday in the area of ​​Crete, southern Cyclades and Dodecanese locally to 7 on the Beaufort scale.

Temperatures will not change significantly and will be 13°C in the north, 17°C in the rest of the mainland and the Ionian Sea, and 18 to 20°C on the eastern islands of Greece. In the northwest there will be frost in some places early in the morning.

Partly cloudy. In the west, localized short-term rain is possible during the midday and afternoon hours. Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be limited in places, mainly in the west and north.

The wind is from the west, from 3 to 5, in the south 6 and in the morning locally 7 on the Beaufort scale. Gradually in the afternoon southwesterly winds of force 4 to force 6 will prevail in the north.

Generally clear weather with some clouds, mainly in the north. Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be limited in places, mainly in the west of the mainland.

Winds from the west/northwest will blow at a speed of 3-5. Temperatures will rise slightly, mainly in the north.

Generally clear weather in most areas. Scattered clouds are expected in the west, north and east of the Aegean Sea. Visibility will be limited in the morning and evening hours. The wind will blow from the southwest at a speed of 3 to 5 on the Beaufort scale.

The temperature will not change significantly and will be 15-16°C in the north and 18-20°C in the south.

According to meteorologists, from December 26 to December 30 the weather will remain virtually unchanged, giving residents of Greece some more warm winter-spring weather.
