Dimitra Liarakou made a public complaint about the sexual harassment she suffered at the municipal police office in central Athens, posting a video on her personal TikTok account.
According to her, during a visit to the municipal police in Agios Konstantinou in central Athens to return the license plates of her car, she was sexually harassed by municipal employees. Since she couldn’t find her car insurance, she asked them to look it up online. Then one of the officers told her “go to my house and find insurance there, while the other one chuckled next to him.”
When she insisted that they find the insurance electronically, the officer asked her: “What can you do for me?”.
“I was so confused, I felt that they were humiliating me so much, you can’t even imagine, she says. – I got up and left. There were three men there, and all three – pardon the expression – mocked me.”
“In general, I’m a very strong person, I couldn’t do that. (…) The only reason I’m like this is that as I get older, I understand what kind of crap I’m living in. And it seems to me that no man will be able to understand what I feel now. Not that all women can…”, – she concludes in her video.
