In a letter signed by 5,765 families, members of the Association of Large Families of Agrios and Surroundings, which was sent to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and members of the Aitoloakarnanian Parliament, they oppose the government’s announced legalization of same-sex marriage. After all, according to them, this is the intention “goes against moral and natural laws.”

Honorable Prime Minister,
We read in the press that you intend to submit a bill on same-sex marriage to parliament for a vote. We don’t know if these reports are true, but it was written, and so far we have not read a retraction anywhere. Therefore, we are forced, interpreting the feelings of 5765 families of members of our Association, to express our complete and absolute disagreement with your intention to vote for such a law, contrary to moral and natural laws. We believe that we do not need to argue our position, but we would like to point out that throughout the animal kingdom, nature acts in a certain way to perpetuate each species.
Moreover, moral laws precisely define the marriage relationship of the two sexes without the slightest question, because GOD himself is the legislator.
Moreover, so far as we can know, such an important question has never been submitted to the consideration and approval of the Greek people, so that the sovereign people themselves could decide on it, which, according to the provision of the current constitution, is the supreme guardian of such institutions as the institution of family and marriage, dictated by biology and established by the Greek Orthodox upbringing and education of our nation.
In conclusion, we do not want to even mention the adoption of children by homosexuals. This version frightens and infuriates us, as something unthinkable for Greek morality, and we will not enter into dialogue on this matter at all. We hope that you will listen to the voice of the overwhelming majority of the Greek people, who completely disagree with the adoption of such a law, since it completely contradicts our Christian faith and the traditions of our ancestors.
