The US House of Representatives voted for an impeachment inquiry into Biden

221 congressmen voted for the resolution to launch an impeachment investigation of President Joe Biden, 212 against; the White House calls all accusations against Biden politically motivated and unfounded.

How tells Euronews, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives of the US Congress unanimously supported the decision, although evidence of violations by the Democratic president has not yet been found.

The investigation is being conducted to determine whether Biden benefited from his son Hunter’s business dealings. Critics of the current US president say that the Biden family receives funds from companies, including foreign ones, for using political influence to benefit business.

The resolution implies a formal start of investigation as part of the impeachment proceedings. According to US law, the investigation itself can be carried out without approval, for this reason it has been ongoing for several months. The idea to hold a vote on the resolution came from Speaker Mike Johnson, who believes that an approved resolution would add more weight to the impeachment proceedings.
