Scandalous incident at a meeting of the Polish Sejm (video)


During the hearings on confidence in the new government of Donald Tusk, an anti-Semitic incident occurred in the Polish Sejm – a deputy from the far-right party “Confederation of Freedom and Independence”

Grzegorz Braun extinguished the Hanukkah candles lit in the hall on the occasion of the Jewish holiday with a fire extinguisher. The voting was disrupted because security evacuated all the people from the building.

The candles were subsequently relit, but parliamentary hearings had to be postponed. Shimon Golovnia, the speaker of the Sejm, called this act “rude, aggressive and stupid” quotes Euronews, and removed Brown from the meeting. He promised to report the incident to the prosecutor’s office and noted: “Poland is a home for all religions.”

A Eurosceptic with pro-Russian views, Brown is known for his anti-Semitic statements. In the past, he has claimed that there is a conspiracy to turn Poland into a “Jewish state.”

Condemned the incident as “disgraceful” and new prime minister Donald Tusk. He was joined by deputies from all parties except the Confederation of Freedom and Independence.
