Sweden’s commander-in-chief visited the front line in Ukraine

General Mikael Büden, Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces, visited forward positions at the front in Ukraine and spoke with soldiers of the 45th separate artillery brigade.

They carry out combat missions in the Eastern direction, many of them were trained in Sweden. General, as the video footage shows, highly appreciated their combat work and asked during the conversation whether the training that Ukrainian soldiers received in Sweden was useful, writes “European truth”. The artillerymen and infantrymen responded that they use the acquired skills from the first days on the battlefield, thanking Mikael Budin and his state for their sustained support of the Ukrainian people in the struggle for independence.

During a recent meeting between Budin and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, they discussed the possibility of supplying Gripen fighters. This issue, according to the general, is being discussed at both the political and military operational levels. Sweden, we recall, is part of the aviation coalition, the purpose of which is to provide Ukraine with fighter jets. Previously, Ukrainian pilots and ground personnel had the opportunity to test Gripen aircraft in Sweden.
