Menidi: Man found burned in car commits suicide

Law enforcement is unraveling the death of a 44-year-old man whose body was found in a burned parked car in Menidi on Ionias Avenue on Saturday evening, 2/12.

Firefighters and 10 employees in 3 specialized vehicles arrived at the scene. According to exclusive information from in.gr, a local resident committed suicide.

The car was identified by the wife of the deceased. The remains removed from the car were in such a terrible state that at first even identifying the gender of the deceased was extremely difficult. After identifying the vehicle, the woman told authorities her husband “went missing as of Saturday afternoon.” According to police sources, before the man committed suicide, he had a violent argument with his wife at their home in Acharnes.

After a squabble and assault, the woman went to the local police station to report that her husband had beaten her. A forensic medical examination was ordered. And two hours later, the fire department received a call about a fire in a parked car in the Menidi area. The police are investigating.
