"Storm of the century": severe bad weather in Crimea (video)


In Crimea, the speed of the hurricane on Sunday, November 26 reached 144 km/h. There are people injured.

In Yevpatoria and the Saki region, 200 houses were flooded, 311 people, including 43 children, were evacuated by rescuers. As a result of the bad weather, one person went missing and four others were injured. This was reported by Russian media with reference to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Local publics report that the hurricane toppled trees and cut power lines. Huge storm waves flooded beaches and flooded coastal buildings, cutting off power to dozens of settlements. In Saki, 20 houses were left without heating, and 68 thousand subscribers were without electricity. In the Krasnogvardeisky district, 48 settlements were left partially without electricity, in the Simferopol region – 38, writes “Crimea. Realities”.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, seven people were injured due to the storm, one was missing. One of the messages says:

“The man was washed away by a wave from the embankment during a storm near Sudak. Before his disappearance, 51-year-old Oleg from the village of Morskoye was walking along the Cote d’Azur. At about 20:40 he was taken away by a wave. Rescuers have blocked the road and are searching, but there are no results yet.”
