Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said the return of the Parthenon marbles to Greece was a “reunification” and not a return of “property”.
In an interview with British state broadcaster BBC on Sunday, the Greek prime minister added that Greece will continue to push for the return of the Parthenon marbles, although progress in negotiations has been slow.

“If I told you [разрезать] Mona Lisa in half… Do you think your viewers will appreciate the beauty of the painting?” Mitsotakis reasoned, trying to visualize his position on this issue.
Mitsotakis has been on a three-day working visit to London since Sunday, where he will also meet opposition leader Kai Stramer, who recently said he would work on the Parthenon sculptures issue once he becomes prime minister.
