A commuter train derailed in Patras with about 72 people on board.
The derailment of the commuter train occurred shortly before 14:00 on Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Γούναρη Street and Όθωνας-Αμαλίας Avenue in Patras. As a result, no one was injured. About 70 passengers were safely evacuated from the derailed train with the help of police officers, reports tempo24.
Following the accident, Hellenic Train announced the cancellation of trains 12305 (Agios Andreas-Rio) and 12306 (Rio-Agios Andreas). Trains 12304, 12307 and 12308 on the Agios Andreas-Patras section have also been partially cancelled.
