The first snow fell in Greece

Winter has officially arrived in Western Macedonia: the first snow has fallen in the mountains.

On Saturday morning (November 18), residents of the villages of Nymfaio and Pisoderi in Florina woke up to find themselves in a “winter wonderland.” Roads, roofs of houses, streets and parked cars were covered with the first snow. The magical white landscape created a beautiful but icy atmosphere.

Weather forecast for today
The weather is deteriorating from today: first in the west, center and north of Greece, and then quickly in other regions. Rain and strong winds are expected. Snow will fall in mountainous areas located in northern Greece and in some places in its central part.

The temperature will drop and will not exceed +13-15°C. In the rest of the country the temperature will reach +17-19°C, and locally in the south +21°C. Wind in the west and north-west of Greece with force 6 to 8. In the afternoon in the Ionian Sea area – 9 points on the Beaufort scale. The rest of the country will experience winds from the west/southwest at force 6 to 8 on the Beaufort scale.

Weather: cloudy, with occasional rain and thunderstorms. The weather will improve from midday.

Wind: southwest from 4 to 6 on the Beaufort scale.

Air temperature: from +10°С to +17°С.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: cloudy, with occasional rain and storms. The weather will improve from midday.

Wind: northwest from 4 to 6 points on the Beaufort scale, increasing to 6-8 points, and in the evening to 9 points on the Beaufort scale.

Air temperature: from +08°С to +13°С.
