Officers from the Anti-Racist Violence Unit of the Attica Security Directorate arrested a 42-year-old man who abused a young girl and a disabled man while broadcasting his actions live.
How tells CNN Greece, he demonstrated offensive behavior towards two victims online, taking advantage of their helplessness and disability. He is accused of causing bodily harm, verbal abuse and pimping, racially motivated crimes, and violating weapons laws.
Having created a social media account to play visual material with registered users, the accused live-streamed continuous abusive behavior towards two young men. It consisted of constant verbal abuse, physical harm, such as shocks with a stun gun, and coercion to perform sexual acts. On his Internet channel, he mocked a 21-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man with mental retardation live for a reward of up to 150 euros.
During the investigation, 554(!) video horror, and the arrested person has 22,700 subscribers on the platform. Shocking videos of a man abusing a girl and a mentally retarded man were watched by thousands of people. Their details cause a storm of emotions in normal people: disgust and indignation, pity for the victims and misunderstanding – how this can happen in a normal society.
He forced two young men to beat each other with ropes and fists and perform sexual acts. In one video he shaves a young girl’s head bald, in another he forces her to shave her eyebrows. He beat his defenseless victims with a stun gun and humiliated human dignity in unimaginable ways in dozens of videos. His perverted fantasy was inexhaustible, writes newsbeast.gr. He even stuck the young man’s head into the toilet and flushed the water, and those present in the room burst into laughter. And all this is live!
A platform user who became aware of the existence of these videos said in a conversation with MEGA, referring to the cruel fashion with “live” insults:
“This phenomenon has existed on the Greek Internet for at least 3 years. We, as users, have repeatedly written complaints, because otherwise you cannot do anything, there is no other legal basis. At best, the video may simply be deleted. This is a cruel fashion with live bullying, attacks on women, on people with disabilities, which are repeated live without any action from the authorities.”
The accused was detained on November 11 shortly after midnight in Keratsini by police from the Anti-Narcotics Sub-Directorate. The arrested person was brought before the competent prosecutor, and the Department for Combating Racist Violence took the necessary measures to assist his victims.
