The quality check of the new electric buses, which will strengthen the urban transport fleet of Athens and Thessaloniki, was successfully completed during the visit of the Secretary General for Transport Yiannis Xifaras and the commission for the acceptance of buses and components for the tender,
consisting of officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and OSI SA, to the territory of Yutong International Holding in China.
The purpose of the visit was to inspect the bus model and accessories, namely the charger and mobile emergency charging unit, to verify their compliance with the specifications of the tender funded by the Recovery Fund.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the inspections were completed on Tuesday and the relevant inspection reports for the buses were completed, after which mass production of the vehicles will begin.
We would like to remind you that last Thursday, November 2, 2023, as part of the meeting between the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Staikouras and the leadership of the Chinese Yutong Group in Beijing, the progress in fulfilling contractual obligations for the timely delivery of buses was discussed, and it was confirmed that the established schedules remain stable.
