Alexandroupolis: 14-year-old girl scalped in playground


A teenage girl suffered a serious head injury on the playground in Alexandroupolis on Poimenidis Street – covered in blood, she was taken to the university hospital and urgently operated on.

A fourteen-year-old girl was seriously injured on Tuesday 7 November at approximately 8:15 pm on a children’s carousel when her hair became wrapped around the spinning bar. The skin on the teenager’s head, along with his hair, was torn off from the forehead to the top of his head, writes CNN Greece and she hit her head hard. The parents of other children who were on the playground immediately called an ambulance, which took the bloodied girl to the hospital.

Doctors have determined that there is now no danger to her life, but plastic surgery will be required to restore the area from the eyes to the top of the head.
