On October 28, a national holiday in Greece, a school parade was also held on the island of Akritikos Arkios, as expected.
However, only 1 student took part in it. In fact, the only schoolchild on the island – Michael Angelos Kavouras (Μιχαήλ Άγγελος Κάβουρας) – was not alone. Marching with him was Christos Camposos, who in previous years had been the only child in the island’s school. Two students from the Patmos school, where Christos Kamposos is now studying, also took part in the parade, as they say, “for company.” The modest procession of the “younger generation” evoked emotion and applause from the few residents of the remote Greek island.
