The free breast cancer diagnosis program “Fofi Gennimata” will be extended to women aged 45-74, up from 50-69 years old, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Wednesday on the occasion of World Cancer Day. breast cancer.
Currently, the Fofi Gennimata program covers 1.3 million women aged 50-69 years and provides free services: digital mammography, specialist examination and ultrasound.
New program participants in the 45-74 age group will be notified via SMS. Program participants can apply to public or private medical institutions, take the examination and get the results for free.
A committee of public health experts (PHC) has reportedly considered revising age limits in line with new European guidelines.
