Fraudulent lawyer rented out the same apartment 31 times

The scam involving renting out his home to just… 31 tenants was not the first scam that the 41-year-old lawyer orchestrated to extort money from unsuspecting citizens.

Apparently, the man managed to get 130,000 euros through a fraudulent scheme. The dodger repeatedly rented out a house he owned in Agia Paraskevi at a time when a particular property was put up for auction for debts to private individuals, writes in.gr.

Before turning into a swindler, the lawyer worked in the Greek Parliament. A little later, he organized a “pension factory”, using the provisions of the European program, he received large sums from interested parties. Judging by the complaints, he did not hesitate to forge even the signature of the special secretary of parliament. According to him, he himself received money from interested parties, after which the amounts from EU went into his own account. The lawyer states that he has made the appropriate translations.

“My wife, if I’m not mistaken, lost the largest amount in all this – 50 thousand euros. And in total we are talking about people who took part in all this “nonsense” (expletive) who contributed more than 250 thousand euros.” , – said a relative of one of the victims of the swindler. “In a conversation with my wife, the lawyer said to her: “Why don’t you join these European programs that, in essence, provide you with a pension?!” But first you need to make a certain contribution. Unfortunately, my wife was convinced,” he continued.

The plan was so well organized that he sent the woman emails purporting to be from Ursula von der Leyen and the governor of the Bank of Greece. “He used too many names of famous people in politics. The prestige that his position in the Greek Parliament as a legal partner gave him left no room for doubt. So he allegedly embezzled 250 thousand euros by selling pension and investment programs.

It’s strange that this man has a very good backstory, that is, my wife met him in the parliament building,” says the husband of the lady who suffered from fraud.

A man who became a victim of the same lawyer says that he found an apartment that was slightly cheaper than the average market price, but the owner asked for a year’s rent in advance. In fact, he told him that he had to give him an answer by 6:00 pm that day.

“I first requested all the legal documents, posted them on TaxisNet, accepted them and saw that the process was legal. I paid a deposit and transferred money for three rents,” says the defrauded man. However, when he I saw advertisements for the same property for rent, he couldn’t believe his eyes and called the realtorwho told him that the apartment was probably rented by someone else.

The tenant then called the property owner and made an appointment again as a new candidate, while he also called him under his real name, and the lawyer made an appointment half an hour earlier than… the new potential client. According to the complaining tenant, the lawyer returned his advance payment when he visited him again at the supposedly re-rented house. But the man realized that something was wrong and wrote a statement to the police asking them to check.

As you know, the man has worked in parliament since 2016. However, when his actions were revealed, he was suspended in 2022. “I was forced to rent out the property because I had debts to private individuals,” he claims. However, he does not hesitate to declare that he needs return to his position in the Greek Parliament if the people he defrauded want their money back.

“I ask Mr. Tasulu to return me to my former workplace, to parliament. Moreover, this should have been done not today, but yesterday,” the lawyer noted in an interview with the MEGO channel.
