Scott Ritter: “We don’t have the strength to fight Iran”

Former American intelligence officer Scott Ritter explained in an interview the reasons why the United States cannot go to war with Iran.

“They are talking about a possible conflict with Iran. We cannot fight with Iran, we do not have the strength for this. “We fought in the Gulf War in 1991 with friendly ports and airports where we could bring in ships and planes and land our troops,” he said. – How will we do this in a war with Iran? They will bomb all ports and airports, which means we will have to force our way into the Iranian port, and we do not have the strength for this. Iran has missiles that will sink any of our ships before they even arrive. We have two aircraft carriers stationed off the coast of Lebanon with 2,000 personnel to fight Hezbollah. Hezbollah is made up of 100,000 highly trained men hiding in the hills of southern Lebanon who are ready for this battle. We’re going crazy! Let me state clearly that the United States cannot now fight and win a war anywhere in the world against a power with military capabilities. We are so weak.”

Reference: William Scott Ritter, Jr. is a former United States Marine Corps intelligence officer and former weapons inspector for the United Nations Special Commission on Armaments (UNSCOM). During Operation Desert Storm, Ritter served as a junior military analyst. He then served with UNSCOM from 1991 to 1998, overseeing the disarmament of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq, where he resigned in protest.

Let us recall that today US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that “the United States will not hesitate to resort to military action.” Hours after the Pentagon announced plans to bolster its military forces in the region in the face of recent escalation by Iran and its allies, Austin told ABC News in an interview with “those who allegedly seek to escalate the conflict: “Our advice – don’t do this. We maintain our right to self-defense and will not hesitate to act accordingly.”

“In fact, what we see,” the defense secretary said, “is the prospect of a significant escalation of attacks against our troops and civilians in the region.”

“For these reasons, we will do everything necessary to ensure that our troops are well positioned, protected and able to respond.” if U.S. interests come under attack, Austin warned.

Greece, by stationing US military and military equipment on its territory, can also become a military target of pro-Palestinian forces.
