Patras: "attack" coronavirus at the Aniaton shelter

The number of active coronavirus cases at the Aniaton shelter in Patras, despite strict measures to prevent its spread, has reached 32.

Ms. Karali, chairman of the board of directors of the Gogo Karalis children’s shelter, notes that recently there has been a flurry of coronavirus cases among the residents of the shelter and its workers:

“All this time, measures did not stop at the Aniaton shelter. A combination of recent incidents has forced us to discontinue the supervised visit we had in place and no one is now entering from outside. We also carefully observe the measure that all employees undergo using a rapid test. Recently, 15 workers tested positive for the virus.”

The detected variant of Covid affects the upper respiratory tract, and the disease is mild or asymptomatic, reports tempo24news, however, everything is ready to counteract more severe forms using antiviral drugs.

Despite the number of incidents recorded at the Aniaton shelter, the situation, experts note, is not comparable to January 2022, when the virus entered the institution en masse.
