As a friend of both Israel and Palestine, Greece “can play a very important mediation role,” Palestinian Ambassador to Greece Youssef Dorhom said at a press briefing held at the embassy on Wednesday.
“Greece has always maintained a balanced position in international relations,” he added, “and we look forward to its positive role.” In addition, Greece “has always supported the two-state solution and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their own independent state on the territory determined in 1967, with its capital in East Jerusalem.” According to him, Greece has historically supported international law.
A Palestinian diplomat condemned Tuesday night’s hospital bombing in the Gaza Strip and noted that after that fateful event, all attempts at peace seem to have ceased. He also denied Israel’s claim that the hospital was hit by a ricocheting rocket, saying the video in question, which Israel attributed to Al Jazeera, was later removed from all official Israeli accounts following an investigation by the New York Times.
When asked whether he considered Hamas a terrorist organization, the ambassador replied that the only legitimate representative of the Palestinian people is the Palestine Liberation Organization, and the PLO is fully bound by all international agreements and international law.

We send a signal to the whole world that the criminal terrorist occupation will come to an end “, – said the ambassador.
