According to data published today, a slight decrease in the inflation rate was recorded in September. But it’s not that simple.
The price picture remains problematic, as the recorded downward trend is driven only by falling energy prices, as opposed to the continued rise in prices of food and essential goods.
In particular, prices increased in September:
- Bread and cereals by (4.8%).
- Meat – in general (8.4%).
- Fish – in general (4.1%).
- Dairy products and eggs (6.7%).
- Oils and fats (16.1%).
- Fruits – in general (13.9%).
- Vegetables – in general (17.7%).
- Sugar – chocolate – candy – ice cream (8.2%).
- Other food products (9.1%).
- Coffee-cocoa-tea (6%).
- Mineral water – soft drinks – fruit juices (13.9%).
- Alcoholic drinks (5.7%).
Prices also increased by:
- Clothing and footwear (6.2%).
- Housing, rent (6.3%).
- Home repair and maintenance (3%).
- Solid fuel (19.2%).
- Household appliances and repairs (2%).
- Glassware and household utensils (5.4%).
- Household items (3.3%).
- Household services (7.2%).
- Pharmaceutical products (11.8%).
- Medical, dental and paramedical (massage, etc.) services (5.5%).
- New cars (3%).
- Used cars (9%).
- Automotive parts and accessories (6.6%).
- Fuels and lubricants (0.9%).
- Maintenance and repair of personal vehicles (5.3%).
- Air tickets (7.9%).
- Durable goods for recreation and culture (2.2%).
- Small recreational items – flowers – pet food (5.8%).
- Cinema tickets (10.6%).
- For primary education, tutors (3.8%).
- For secondary education, tutors (3.5%).
- Trips to restaurants, pastry shops, cafes and snack bars (5.6%).
- Hairdressers (4%).
- Personal hygiene items (1.8%).
- Medical insurance premiums (5.7%).
- Vehicle insurance (2.1%).
Conversely, prices fell by:
- Natural gas (82%).
- Heating oil (20.7%).
- Telephone services (3.5%).
- Electricity (1.2%).
During the period from September to August there was an increase in natural gas prices (14.4%). There were also new price increases for: breakfast cereals (5.2%), olive oil (6.7%), other edible oils (6%), fresh vegetables (10.2%), home textiles (5.2 %) And so on.
