A schoolboy bought drugs on the Internet using bitcoins

A high school student is the first person arrested in Larisa who used the darknet to order drugs from abroad and paid for them with cryptocurrency.

An 18-year-old student from Larisa is in the hands of the police. According to local publication onlarissa.gr, after ordering a small amount of known hallucinogens such as MDMA and LSD from the UK, he was arrested on Friday (October 13) by the Larissa sub-directoral narcotics department.

He used the dark web to order drugs from abroad, which he paid for in cryptocurrency (bitcoins) worth US$150, which he converted at a digital currency ATM in Larissa.

The arrest of a Larisa resident can be considered unprecedented. However, this case only confirms what the prosecutor’s office already knows: the anonymous network, popularly known as the darknet, can be used even by young people who are well versed in new technologies. “Crazy” drug dealers moved from dangerous “personal contacts” from squares and streets to the Internet.

A parcel from the UK was discovered by a trained dog at the El. Venizelos.” Thus, its recipient from Larisa was identified. The package contained tablets containing 14.6 grams of methyleneoxymethamphetamine, known as MDMA, a psychoactive substance used by users. And also 5 pieces of the hallucinogenic drug LSD and 10 tablets of a powerful sedative (dispensed strictly according to prescription).

During a search of the guy’s house, among other things, 22 grams of hashish, electronic scales and 635 euros were found and confiscated. The guy was prosecuted for drug trafficking (importation from abroad and possession) and brought before an investigator.

The guy is currently in jail.
