Subsidy for flood victims in Thessaly is 300-500 euros monthly

Those who lost their property during the flood in Thessaly will receive from 300 to 500 euros to pay for temporary housing. Until noon on September 16, 12,319 applications had already been submitted on the state aid platform. Who will receive it?

The monthly subsidy is intended for those who have lost their main place of residence, said Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Christos Triandopoulos from the Business Coordination Center in Larissa. He clarified that we are talking about cases when the first housing is considered unsuitable and is subject to repair or reconstruction.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the benefit is provided to beneficiaries depending on the family members living in the affected house and will range from 300 to 500 euros per month, while it will be provided to owners for two years and for six months to tenants.

As noted by Mr. Triandopoulos, beneficiaries submit an application to the competent department of the General Secretariat for Disaster Management and State Aid, choosing either a rental subsidy or a shared residence subsidy when the beneficiary lives in the house of a relative or friend during the above periods. He noted that the start date of the subsidy is determined by the start date of cohabitation or rent. The Deputy Minister emphasized:

“The work of support and rehabilitation continues at an intensive pace, it is continued by everyone involved on the ground, as well as citizens who are undergoing trials during this very difficult time. We want to move as quickly and as efficiently as possible, which is exactly what we have done in terms of compensation “.

Following the payment of the first compensation on Friday, about 25 million euros, the process continues. Until noon on Saturday state aid platform 12,319 final applications and 4,262 provisional applications were submitted, writes newsbeast.gr.
