Amazon now sells even… houses

Amazon has and sells (almost) everything. However, now the American e-commerce company has added a new “trophy” to its product catalog: “prefabricated/prefabricated houses”.

The economic crisis and inflation are getting worse, housing prices are rising exorbitantly. And where is the exit? Don’t despair, it certainly is. Prefabricated houses, cheaper and with good finishes, are quite in line with the expectations of customers. For this reason, more and more “prefabricated / frame houses” appear on the sales market.

The e-commerce company Amazon has become the leader among companies selling panel houses. With just one click you can “add to shopping cart” a prefabricated house for only 8,000 euros! This, of course, is not a palace (but just a country house), but it most likely does its job. If you have a place to install it, the rest is nothing. This is a studio house: simple, functional and completely wooden.

It covers an area of 16.35 m2 and its structure is made of high quality Scandinavian wood (solid wood), with door and window frames and aluminum structural parts. Large door-windows allow this house (in fact, the studio) to “be caressed” by the sun’s rays (tosolar panels can be installed on the roof and thus make it autonomous, independent of the power supply).

The buyer can choose the style that best suits his needs. However, the most common and sought-after option is the cottage, which consists of two rooms, after assembly of which the new owners can decide how much space will be allocated to each of them. The dividing wall is 44 mm thick and the ceiling is 2.4 meters high. The cottage also has a kitchen and bathroom.

The Allwood Palma 3 is sold as a kit and comes with step by step assembly instructions which takes approximately 48 hours. The color of the house can also be chosen according to your taste (natural wood or painted).

Amazon sells other models such as the Allwood Arlanda House. The Arlanda, also made from solid Scandinavian wood, has a modern, urban design. Like the Alwood Palma 3 model, the house can be placed on the roofs of multi-storey buildings, making the most of the available space. Its area is 16 m2, the walls are 19 mm thick, the ceiling height is 2.61 m. There is a door and four windows through which natural light enters.

Due to its popularity, this home is currently out of stock at Amazon.. However, the manufacturer is expected to restock in the near future, although a specific date and price has yet to be set.

PS I wonder what Greek legislation says about this? Is it possible to install such a house, say, on your land? And how cold it will be in a warm Greek winter.
