Man attacked by bear

A resident of Trikala was attacked by a bear on the morning of Monday, August 28, in Mesuda, on the border of the prefectures of Trikala and Arta.

The man, who spent the summer months in his hometown of Lafina, went out into the mountains for a walk with his dog in the morning. Unexpectedly, on the way they met a bear, which first attacked his dog. The man, trying to save the dog, received several blows and bites from a wild animal.

According to trikalaopinion.gr, the bear bit the man and seriously injured him in various parts of the body. Luckily, the man managed to hide in a place hard to reach for the bear. In a state of shock, the victim made a call from a mobile phone asking for help.

A few hours later, rescue volunteers and firefighters managed to find him. The man was given first aid and then taken to Arta Hospital, where he is currently being treated. Doctors stated that the patient had serious injuries.
