USA: hormonal imbalance helped a woman get into the Guinness Book of Records with the longest beard (video)

A resident of Michigan is the owner of the longest beard in the world among women, according to a message on the official website of the Guinness Book of Records.

Erin Honeycutt, a 38-year-old LGBT representative, made it to the reference book because her beard is 30 cm long. The woman’s diagnosis of polycystic ovary syndrome helped set the record: it causes hormonal imbalances and excessive body hair growth.

A malfunction in the body allowed Honeycutt to receive the title of woman with the longest beard in the world, while she did not take any drugs. Hormonal imbalance manifested itself in her at the age of 13, during puberty. The girl began to grow a beard rapidly, and she had to shave three times a day. At a later age, hair growth slowed down.

Over the years, vision deteriorated, and fatigue from an unusual procedure for a woman increased. She “waved her hand” and stopped shaving, and her beard “began the path to the record.”

PCOS isn’t Erin Honeycutt’s only problem. Five years ago, a woman had the lower half of one of her legs amputated after she developed a bacterial infection while treating a foot injury in a hospital. In addition, due to high blood pressure, Erin suffered a rupture of the eye vessels.

The previous record for the longest beard in a woman, which was 25.5 cm, belonged, according to the Guinness Book of Records, to 75-year-old Vivian Wheeler from the United States.
