On the day of the celebration of the engagement, a woman fell from a 30-meter cliff and died tragically.

Yesim Demir, 39, and her fiancé Nizamedin Gursu were vacationing in Canakkale in southwestern Turkey. According to international media reports, the couple climbed the slope to make a beautiful “marriage proposal” overlooking the sunset.

The injured woman was pulled out of the gorge alive, but she had very serious injuries. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of rescuers and resuscitation, which was carried out for at least 45 minutes, the woman died.

“We chose this slope to take romantic photos, to leave them as memories of my proposal of a beloved hand and heart. We drank alcohol. Everything happened in an instant. She lost her balance and fell into the void,” said the shocked Gursu.

After the tragic accident, the Turkish authorities announced that access to the specific area where the tragedy occurred will now only be possible to enter 20 minutes before sunset.
