Fire in Kuvaras and Lagonisi: burning houses, cars (photo-video)


The fire that started in Kouvaras and spread to Anavysos, Lagonisi, and Saronida was out of control. A strong wind of 6-7 points, with gusts of up to 8 points, sharply expanded the fire area, due to which the fire fell on the settlements of Kuvaras and Lagonisi.

Police sent to help firefighters

The efforts of the fire brigade are supported by the police, who sent a powerful force to the area of ​​the incident. In particular, assistance is provided by 119 police officers from groups OPKE and DIAS, patrol cars of the direct police, traffic police, and patrol police units. Armed Forces Combat with Flames

The military has been brought in to extinguish fires in Kouvara, Loutraki and Caparelli in Boeotia. The authorities have activated the Deucalion and Xenokratis plan, under which parts of the Greek armed forces are involved. In particular, Kuvaras was allocated two CL-215 and two CL-415 aircraft, two Deucalion groups with a total of 22 people, as well as a Xenokratis group of eight people. Two CL-215 aircraft, two Chinook helicopters, two ground motorized groups, as well as an eleven-man Deukalion group were sent to extinguish the fire in Loutraki.
