The youth pass is now called the Youth Pass (formerly known as the Freedom Pass). It is a digital voucher for 150 euros.
The Youth Pass is one of three new support measures included in the economic agenda of the New Democracy Party, introduced by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Each year Youth Pass recipients will be young people who turn 18 and 19 years old, which is estimated at 200,000 people per year.
This means that the budgetary cost of the event will amount to 30 million euros. Youth Pass will issued upon application, which must be submitted digitally via vouchers.gov.gr. Beneficiaries will log into the platform with Taxisnet codes, receive SMS and e-mail with information about the issuance and use of the Youth Pass, which will also have an expiration date.
150 Euro youth voucher
- Will be given 1st time in September 2023
- Recipients (beneficiaries) are young people aged 18 or 19 (i.e. those who turned 18 or 19 before 31/12 of the previous year).
- Total beneficiaries: 200,000 young people per year.
- 150 euros – non-material digital card (not cash).
- Prerequisite: Applying for vouchers.gov.gr.
Where will it be used:
- Hotels – accommodation for tourists.
- Transport (taxi, buses, trains, ferries, plane tickets).
- Car rental, pleasure boats.
- Theatres, cinemas, concerts.
