Summer sales will begin on July 10 and will last until the end of August.
According to information provided by the Hellenic Confederation of Trade and Enterprise (ESEE), during sales, in addition to indicating the old and reduced prices of goods and services sold at a discount, the percentage of the discount must also be indicated.
If more than 60% of all items sold in the store are discounted, a demonstration of the discount percentage granted is required.
The percentage of the discount must be indicated on the display window, as well as in any other commercial message.
When, if different discount rates are set for each category of goodsshould be specified range provided rate. In any other case, it will be stated that discounts apply to selected items with reference to the corresponding percentage.
The method of calculating and displaying the discounted price must be correct and accurate. Store owners should, in the event of an inspection, be able to prove that the old sale price on the sign is true.
It is expected that the official announcement of the beginning of the summer sales will be made by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and SELPE. Store hours will be announced later.
