Greeks vote slightly less actively compared to May 2023

Repeat elections for the Greek parliament are taking place today. Voter turnout, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is 29.13%, that is, 2.4% lower than in May (31.52%).

Michalis Stavrianudakis, secretary general of the Ministry of Interior, noted that the most active voters voted in Heraklion, Phthiotis, the northern sector of Athens, East Attica, Thessaloniki and Larissa. He named Florina, Kefalonia, Evrytania, Laconia and Lefkada as regions with lower levels of participation. The largest participation was 33.52% and the smallest was 17.03%.

As soon as the polling stations close at 19:00, the data of the large exit poll will be published. The exit survey is conducted jointly by ALCO, MARC, METRON ANALYSIS, MRB HELLAS SA, Pulse and GPO. The exit survey is conducted on behalf of the Mega channels (in collaboration with Metron Analysis), open (with MRB), Star (with GPO), Alpha (with Alco), ANT1 (with Marc) and SKAI (in collaboration with Pulse). Action24 will also take part in the joint exit field.

Survey participants are also asked to answer additional questions to ensure the categorization of the data collected – about the level of education, which party they voted for in the previous 2019 elections, when they decided on their choice of candidate.
