Among the rescued, 6 persons accused of human trafficking were identified

A preliminary investigation into the shipwreck off Pylos is being carried out by the Kalamata Port Authority, and according to information, the Coast Guard has identified 6 individuals who were operating the wrecked vessel 47 nautical miles southwest of Pylos.

According to the information, all seven of those arrested are Egyptians, and their number may increase in the coming hours as interrogations progress.

The number of traders is justified by the large number of migrants, since, according to eyewitnesses, there were up to 750 people on the fishing boat, and among the traders, presumably, was the captain of the vessel, who spoke fluent English and, according to the Greek authorities, communicated with the coast guard for more than ten hours.

Joined the investigation ΕΥΠ, whose team is already in Kalamata to investigate the activities of carriers of illegal immigrants. The media report that there is an order from the authorities not to take anyone out of Kalamata until the persons involved in “human trafficking” are identified and arrested, as the Greek Criminal Code qualifies the transportation of illegal immigrants.

The National Intelligence Service has been tasked with finding out how large the network of these traffickers is and how far their contacts and activities extend.

There is other information published by the Greek edition Zoygla. The authors of the publication believe that the persons accused of “human trafficking” can be exactly the same potential migrants with the only difference: they were not charged for transportation to Italy, taking as payment the management and maintenance of the vessel.

The real carriers bought an old fishing trawler cheaply, collected $5,000 from about 750 passengers, which is at least $3.750 million, and remained unknown.

However, the secret services of Egypt and Greece, most likely, know about them. But those who will be declared “human traffickers” will be judged and given terms of 500 years or more.

There are still many dark moments in this story. This is a certain ship of the Italian coast guard, which is mentioned by the rescued, mentions of strange moments in phone calls from the ship before the shipwreck, which were published by a volunteer Nawal Soufi. etc.

It is also worth noting that SYRIZA MEP and Vice President of the European Parliament Dimitris Papadimoulis accused the authorities of a crime.

Along with other MEPs from the left, the Greens and the Socialists, including Kostas Arvanitis and Elena Kuntoura, Dimitris Papadimoulis stood in front of the camera and posed for pictures with his colleagues, holding up posters with messages such as “Refugee Lives Matter” and “It Was not an accident, it was a crime.”

According to Dimitris Papadimoulis, the tragedy of 79 dead migrants off the coast of Pylos in international waters at dawn on Wednesday “shows the responsibility of Greece for their rescue.” Shortly thereafter, however, Papadimoulis, realizing the uproar his provocative statement would cause, retracted it, changing his original tweet and writing that the fatal shipwreck at Pylos “exposes those who were responsible and had the opportunity to save them.” Perhaps this is political self-promotion, but it is also possible that an influential politician has other sources of information.

It is noted that the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Isidoros Dogiakos instructed the Deputy Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Georgios Ikonom supervise the investigation, while he is already in Kalamata, where investigations are underway to identify the traffickers and verify the circumstances of the tragic shipwreck. The investigation is led by the head of the prosecutor’s office of Kalamata, Polikseni Tsuli.
