100-year-old lady has updated her license and now she can safely drive a car again

100-year-old Italian Candida Uderzo, who extended her driver’s license for another two years, says she is ready for new car trips.

The Italian from Vicenza has become third centennial woman in the countrydeemed fit to drive. “It makes me happy and more independent,” the lady told reporters from Corriere della Sera – now she will not pressure her son to take her anywhere.

“I am lucky that I reached the 100 mark. It is amazing to me that I am still active and healthy. I don’t take medication, only sleeping pills from time to time.” She admitted that she had such good eyesight that she can read a newspaper without glasses.

According to the Guardian, in Italy one of the highest centennial population in Europewhich not only does not decrease, but also continues to grow.

According to the National Statistical Office, there were 20,456 centenarians in May 2023 compared to 14,456 in 2019.

Uderzo stated that her her only regret in life was that she lost her husband when she was relatively young. “I decided that for me to stay alive (to continue to live) means to enjoy life as much as possible. I started going out with friends and it helped me deal with the grief of losing a loved one. After I retired, I became more organized and since then I have not missed any holidays, I have always rested with friends and company.
