Tempi: the only survivor in the first car will be sent to Germany

The sole survivor of the first carriage of a passenger train that collided with a freight train in a deadly accident at Tempi is expected to be transferred to a special rehabilitation center in Germany tomorrow, Tuesday 13/06.

21-year-old Gerasimos, hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Larisa General Hospital after the railway accidents in Tempiwill be transferred to a rehabilitation center in Hannover, by decision of his parents and with the assistance of the Ministry of Health.

Tomorrow, employees of a German rehabilitation center specializing in traumatic brain injuries are waiting at Larisa’s hospital. EKAB will transport the young man to a military airfield in Larisa, in order to then fly to Germany.

With regard to the judicial investigation into the Tempi accident, it is expected that five former and current leaders ose will testify at the end of June.

After the criminal charges were brought against them by the head of the Larissa Prosecutor’s Office of Appeal, Stamatis Daskalopoulos, the two general directors of the OFP were given a deadline for testifying on June 30, and the heads of departments on June 19 and 20.

Five have been charged with reckless reckless violation of traffic safety, reckless reckless manslaughter, reckless mass infliction of grievous (and lighter) bodily harm. These are the heads of the Departments of railway systems and the operation of E / M systems and electrification, as well as the general directors of the Main Directorate of the IPS network.

Concerning the state of health of Gerasimos, the only survivor of a terrible railway accident, the opinions of doctors are not so optimistic.

As previously written “Athenian News”, the head of the Larissa Medical Association, Konstantinos Giannakopoulos, spoke at the end of May of the young man’s still grave health condition. “Obviously, he has very serious neurological complications, and we do not know if they will be reversible. Some, of course, are irreversible. The victim breathes through a tracheostomy (breathing tube). He still has a long way to go to recover from some severe complications,” the medic told TV channel. Gerasimos is in the hospital in Larisa. He is in a coma, his state of health remains critical and difficult.
