Moneybag tourists from four countries choose holidays in Greece

Tourists from four important outlying countries, with high travel expenses and long stays, are expressing their trust in Greece, which is predicted to place our country in the top 10 holiday destinations.

According to the report Βαρόμετρο Μακρινών Αγορών published by the European Travel Commission (ETC), visitors from the US, Canada, Australia and Brazil are choosing to spend their summer in Greece.

As for the US market, US tourists rank Greece sixth (12%) among European holiday destinations from May to August – after France, Italy, Great Britain and Spain.

According to the European Tourism Commission (ETC), more than 50% of respondents in China, Brazil, Australia, Canada and the US expressed optimism about traveling abroad. Europe remains the top choice for long-distance travel, and almost half of the visitors are repeat visitors.

The Federal Bureau of Statistics reports: “Rising energy and food costs are placing a heavy burden on many people’s travel budgets. Especially in the countries of Southern and South-Eastern Europe, the level of prices for restaurant and hotel services is clearly lower than in Germany.”
