Two horses found dead in the western part of Parnita

At the foot of a cliff on the slope of the western part of Parnita, just a few kilometers north of the municipality of Fili, volunteers feeding homeless animals found the corpses of two horses.

The complaint, which was sent to the police, the Ministry of Citizens’ Protection, the Special Secretariat and the Supreme Court, refers to a steep section in the western part of Parnita, where horses are systematically dumped. As the letter from the Panhellenic Animal and Environmental Federation states, the perpetrators must be found and punished immediately:

“We have been informed by our local association of the existence of a complaint and photographs of a site in Zapadnaya Parnita in the Khasia region where horses are systematically thrown off a cliff. Several animals and skeletons are visible in the photographs, therefore this has been going on for a long time. We notify you of the complaint and ask you to take immediate measures to find the perpetrators, as the territory is small.”

“Animal body dump at West Parnita, a few kilometers north of Fili – barbarian practices of the Wild West of Attica.” Another case of “destruction of used horses” in hard-to-reach mountain gorges. Most likely, the animals are dumped alive (old, sick), since it is more convenient to bring them to the place on their own, after all, these are heavy animals and certainly not barrels to slide so low into the canyon cleft. The two animals, badly hurt by the fall, would probably have tried to get up or down, but very soon their strength was exhausted and they died a painful death. Unless they were forcibly pushed down and then had their legs broken or killed, although the very difficult terrain does not support this version.

It is difficult to speak with certainty, but lifeless bodies are not visible to passers-by. The choice of location is not accidental. Within a few days, the horses were torn apart by wild and stray animals, and parts of their bodies were scattered everywhere. The two horses, of course, are known to someone, but no one wants to say a word to find the two-legged scum that did it,” the message posted on Facebook reads.
