Swedish singer Loreen wins Eurovision 2023 (video)


Liverpool hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. Singer Loreen from Sweden received 340 points from the jury and 243 from the audience, and became the winner for the second time. The second place was taken by Finland, and the winner of last year’s competition, Ukraine, was sixth.

Loreen became the first woman in Eurovision history to win first place twice.

26 countries participated in the final. For the first time, viewers from all over the world, and not just residents of the participating countries, could participate in the voting. The winner from Sweden scored a total of 583 points.

Loreen’s main rival was Finnish rapper Käärijä, who came out with the hyper-pop track Cha Cha Cha. He placed second with 75 points from the jury and 376 from the audience.

This year, a duet from Ternopil Tvorchi performed from Ukraine. From the Ukrainian language “creative” is translated as “creative”. They performed the song Heart of Steel. There are two musicians in the group – sound producer Andrey Gutsulyak and vocalist Jeffrey Kenny, a student from Nigeria who came to Ukraine to study at the Ternopil Medical University. The duet finished in sixth place.
