The coast guard has been alerted after reports that a passenger on the Achilleas ferry has fallen overboard in the sea between the islands of Kimi and Skyros.
The launched search and rescue operation involves 2 coast guard boats, 5 private boats and 1 helicopter. It is noted that winds of magnitude 4 on the Beaufort scale blow in the area.
According to the information, on May 7 at about 22 pm, two women who were on board the cargo-passenger ferry “Achilleas” saw a man fall overboard and reported this to the crew, who informed the coast guard.
