How Ukrainian pensioners receive payments abroad

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine explained how Ukrainians temporarily residing abroad receive pensions.

The Cabinet of Ministers provided for the possibility of paying by international transfer through Ukrposhta, the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories said.

To receive a pension, the resolution provides for the possibility of concluding bank account agreements with Ukrainian banks. We are talking about banks that do not have branches, branches, representative offices in the pensioner’s country of residence, in particular, banks that do not have their own network at all.

If a pensioner wishes to receive payments through a bank, the application can be submitted electronically using a qualified electronic signature. This can be done along with opening a bank account, without the need for a personal visit to the bank.

At the request of the pensioner, payments can also be received at the post office (if there is a technical possibility for JSC “Ukrposhta” to transfer funds to the host country). The official statement says, quotes “European Truth”:

“The decision adopted by the government was developed by the Ministry of Social Policy following the results of meetings to discuss problematic issues of Ukrainian citizens who found temporary shelter in Poland. So, these categories of pensioners will be able to resume receiving a pension by sending an application by mail in the manner determined by the Pension Fund of Ukraine.”

The publication RBC-UKRAINE explains how the Ukrainian pension can be received abroad. It is simply credited to a bank account, and you can use it in any country in the world:

“As noted in the press service of the Ministry of Social Policy, if a citizen receives his pension at the offices of Ukrposhta, then in order to receive the money accrued to him abroad, he will have to open a bank account and transfer the pension accrual to it. To access the funds, a person must change the method of payment or a payment system. He can remotely open a bank account. If a pensioner already has a bank account, then the accrual of pension payments can be transferred from the Ukrposhta branch to a bank account remotely. To do this, you should change the details for payments in your electronic account of the Pension It is also possible to change the branch of Ukrposhta, where pension payments will be made. To do this, just make a call to the hotline of the postal company, the press service added.
