In the American Deadville, Alabama, there was a shooting in the dance hall at a party for teenagers. Four people died and more than 20 were injured.
How writes The Hill, referring to police data, the tragic incident occurred on April 15 in the ballroom, where one of the teenagers celebrated his 16th birthday. The motives of the shooter are unknown, as well as whether he was detained. An investigation is underway. The incident was reported to US President Joe Biden.

Twenty-eight people were injured, some critically, after a shooting Saturday at the Mahogany Masterpiece Dance Studio in Dadeville. The media named high school student Phil Dowdell, a star athlete, as one of the victims. Virtually no details have surfaced about how the shooting was stopped, or whether the suspects themselves died or are in custody.
State Law Enforcement Sergeant Jeremy Burkett said the investigation would be “a long and complicated process.” “We’re going to work methodically to get through this scene, look at the facts and ensure there’s justice for the families,” he said late Sunday night. Injuries ranged from “extremely critical” to minor, he said. It is likely that most of the victims were teenagers. Some parents were still searching for information about their children 12 hours after the shooting.
Keenan Cooper, the DJ at the dance studio’s birthday party, told reporters that he tried to help get guests under the tables when it all started, but it was too dark to see where and who was shooting from. He said the party was for Phil Dowdell’s sister, as previously reported by the local Montgomery Advertiser. The area around the dance studio is still cordoned off.
Alabama is a state known for defending the right of citizens to own guns, and the Republican governor’s message of condolence was met with criticism on social media from those who advocate gun law reform.
