Greek consular virtual assistant, 24/7 service in 19 languages (video)

The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs about the use of a virtual assistant to serve those who want to travel to a particular country or are already there.

The agency released a video on its YouTube channel, the ministry said in a statement:

“The virtual assistant, using artificial intelligence, answers your questions and guides you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year from any device, through the websites of consular offices, Facebook Messenger and Viber, communicating with you on 19 languages”.

The message emphasizes: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is modernizing and introducing new digital services through consular offices.” The purpose of the innovation is to ensure a high level of service by Greek consular offices for both Greek citizens living or staying abroad, and foreigners. Now, to receive many services, there is no need for a personal presence in consular offices.

A virtual assistant is a kind of “digital clerk”. He successfully communicates with users, perfectly understanding written questions and competently answering them. Communication with him takes place through a digital channel (website of the consular office, Facebook Messenger or Viber). In the process of communication, he suggests actions to be taken in relation to each consular service, depending on the question asked.

Languages in which you can communicate with the virtual assistant: Greek, English, French, German, Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Japanese, Italian, Chinese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Swedish and Turkish, writes CNN Greece.
