A woman found an envelope with 17,000 euros on the street and took it to the police

A passer-by found an envelope with a large sum of money in Trikala and hurried to hand it over to the local police.

According to the site trikalaola.gr, the woman found an envelope with 17,000 euros near the Trikala public market and handed it over to the authorities. Walking along the pedestrian street near the courts (Δικαστήρια), she saw a voluminous envelope on the pavement. The woman picked it up to see what it was and found a substantial amount of money (without any evidence of its rightful owner). Without thinking twice, she turned to the police and handed over the money she found.

After some time, the owner of the money rushed to the police station and wanted to reward an honest townswoman by giving her some amount. However, the woman refused to take the money, limiting herself to the gratitude of the man and receiving moral satisfaction from the fact that she acted in good conscience.
