Free chipping and vaccination of dogs

For the World Day of Homeless Animals on April 4, an event is planned that has never been held on such a scale in Greece.

The Ecological Association of the Municipalities of Athens-Piraeus (ΠΕΣΥΔΑΠ) and the Inter-Municipal Center for the Care of Homeless Animals (DIKEPAZ) are planning from 12:00 to 17:00 this day to hold completely free electronic marking (microchip) and vaccination against rabies and leptospirosis of all dogs brought by their owners to the DIKEPAZ facilities in Schistos Perama.

Providing these services applies to dogs from any region of Atticawhether they originate from PESYDAP member municipalities or not.
According to the president of ΠΕΣΥΔΑΠ, Grigoris Gurdomichalis, “within the framework of the campaign, dog owners get the opportunity to vaccinate their pets against zoonotic diseases, as well as to identify (chip) and register them in the relevant registries provided by law, without any costs on their part.”

To facilitate the process, those who come to DIKEPAZ must have with them:

  1. Animal passport / Dog health book (if not available, it will be issued on the spot, after vaccination and chipping).
  2. Identity card/passport/tautotite and AFM (tax registration number) of the owner, so that the animal can be electronically marked and registered in the official register of the competent ministry.
