Kokoretsi: spun giblets

Kokoretsi is the most delicious dish traditional for Easter, which is extremely nutritious and high in calories.

Basically, the dish consists of liver, offal and intestines, i.e. elements that have a high percentage of fat and contain a certain amount of cholesterol, since these are lamb or goat meat products. There are about 250 calories in 100 grams of kokorezi.

Offal and liver contain significant amounts of fat as well as protein. In addition, due to the presence of the liver in the dish, when we eat it, we get vitamins and minerals, such as iron and magnesium. Kokoretsi is a delicacy with great nutritional value.

One of the most important steps in preparing a dish from the intestines is their good washing.. This is a process that needs to be done very carefully, otherwise you can get food poisoning. In addition, all ingredients must be purchased from a reliable butcher, as good quality (and from animals that have been fed quality food) is important.

Since kokoretsi is not the main dish on the Easter table, but an appetizer, this means that other dishes will follow. In this connection, nutritionists do not recommend eating a delicacy in large quantities.

Bon appetit!
