Mass demonstrations in the center of Athens, as part of a general strike due to the train derailment in Tempi, ended in riots.
Shortly after 13:30, when most of the demonstrators passed by Syntagma, incidents occurred between a group of provocateurs and the police. The provocateurs attacked the police with Molotov cocktails and stones, and the MAT squad responded with tear gas.

Most likely there were provocateurs. And the big question is whether they were the ones pointed out by the police or still disguised police agents, as the opposition says.

Meanwhile in Syntagma Square…
As we reported earlier, today in many cities of Greece rallies and demonstrations organized by trade unions and leftist forces, demanding the punishment of the perpetrators of the railway accident in Tempi, where 57 people died.
In Athens, Thessaloniki, Agrinio and other cities of Greece, tens of thousands of people took to the streets.
The main slogans of the participants in the demonstrations and protests were:
- “People of war, they drink your blood.”
- “Let there be a turning point now, this crime should not be hidden.”
- “You count profits and losses, we count human lives.”
- “Life matters.”
