New expanded lists of low-priced products that are part of the “family basket” announced by supermarket chains.
The Ministry of Development and Investment announced that during the 17th week of the implementation of the “καλαθιού του νοικοκυριού” measure, sufficient price reductions were registered. Of the total number of products, 864 items, prices increased slightly by 75 (8.68%), decreased by 97 (11.23%), and remained stable by 692 (80.09%).
Starting this week, the “family basket” has been supplemented with new products (60 items in total), and presented “lean basket”. It is infused with fresh veal, high pasteurized milk (regular and skimmed), white cheese and chocolate. During the presentation of the Lenten basket, the Minister of Development of Greece emphasized that it will include products that “citizens are used to consuming during Lent.”
“During the period of Lent, in addition to the already existing product categories, we added products such as halva, salads (with mayonnaise, αλοιφές) and frozen seafood to the “basket”, at least two types in each category,” – writes edition iefimerida.gr.
Today, Adonis Georgiadis, Minister of Development and Investment, visited the central fish market of Athens, Varvakio Agora, to see the prices of products with his own eyes.
