"In the near future YouTube in Russia will be closed"

Evgeny Prigozhin, the founder of PMC Wagner, has promised that YouTube will be blocked in Russia in the near future.

He called the resource “the information plague of our time”, and the opponents of its closure – “traitors of previous and future generations of Russians.” Prigozhin announced the imminent closure of video hosting.

According to the founder of the PMC, who previously applied to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation with a demand to block YouTube in Russia, there are two reasons that still prevent the closure of YouTube: this is an “absolutely ridiculous” opinion that there is nowhere else to upload videos, but the main reason is “a huge number people” on the Old Square, who want to quickly improve relations with the United States, so that “the Americans will come and regulate us.” Prigozhin’s press service quotes him:

“And now I will tell you one thing in secret. No matter how hard the bastards who pretend to participate, but actually interfere with us in the special operation, break their teeth, <…> in the near future YouTube will be closed. And those who actively use YouTube, in turn, will be identified and will suffer the deserved punishment.”

According to the founder of PMC Wagner, out of 100% of videos on YouTube, 40% are politicized and directed against the Russian Federation, another 40% are entertainment content and 20% are specialized videos for a narrow audience like: “Hello, I will tell you how to build a small shed for my little dog.” Prigogine calls, writes “Business newspaper”:

“For God’s sake, let’s even translate them into Russian and make them available not only to Ksyusha Sobchak, who speaks 8 languages, but to any woman who wants to build a chicken coop for her dog.”

Prigozhin claims that the closure of the resource is hindered by a huge number of people in the presidential administration. The entrepreneur called those who opposed the closure of YouTube traitors to their people and their country, who live, relax and raise children abroad, and also actively listen to pro-Ukrainian YouTube channels. An alternative to YouTube, according to him, can be the resources of VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, as well as Rutube, the YARUS social network and the Ark platform. He emphasized, quoted news.ru:

“In the near future YouTube will be closed. And those who actively use YouTube, in turn, will be identified and will suffer the deserved punishment.”
