Festive schedule of public transport in Athens for Christmas and New Year 2023
Public transport will operate as follows:
Buses and trolleybuses
Saturday 24 December, Sunday 25 and Monday 26 December 2022 – work according to the Sunday schedule (traffic interval increased by approximately 2 times compared to weekdays).
Saturday 31 December 2022on New Year’s Eve, buses and trolleybuses, starting from 22:00 to 23:00, will complete routes.
On Thursday, January 5, 2023, buses and trolleybuses will operate according to the Saturday schedule.
Special arrangements for public holidays
Due to the predicted increase in passenger traffic, special attention will be paid to lines serving bus stations and the port of Piraeus. Additionally, flights will be added in the early hours, starting at 5:00. Lines serving the airport will operate on a regular schedule.
Metro, commuter train and tram
Starting from Monday, December 19, 2022 and until Sunday, January 10, 2023, traffic on the routes will operate in the same way as the weekend schedule.
On Saturday, December 31, 2022, the operation of transport will be gradually completed from 22:00 to 23:00.
