For western Greece last June was the hottest in 12 years

Over the past 12 years, there has not been such a warm June in western Greece. And for the Peloponnese, Crete and central Greece, it was the second hottest since 2010, when systematic temperature recording began.

The third hottest June this year was for Thessaly and northern Greece. Seasonally high temperatures in June this year were recorded by 52 meteorological stations of the National Observatory of Athens/meteo.gr. At the same time, positive deviations, in comparison with the period of 2010-2019, were registered in all geographical regions of the country.

In western Greece, most days were warmer, especially in the first and last week of the month. In Corfu, 26 days with positive deviations were noted, in Ioannina – 24 days. Athens and Thessaloniki recorded 18 and 17 days, respectively, with positive temperature deviations.

Only during the period of bad weather from June 6 to 13 did the temperature throughout Greece fall below the seasonal values ​​​​for this month, especially in Kilkis, Ioannina, Xanthi, writes cnn.gr.
