The authorities evacuated the settlement of Agios Georgios in Dilesi as a precaution. Local residents told the media that the fire started from the area of Agios Georgios.
The flames seem to have spread quickly while winds also blow in the area, making it difficult to put out. Residents received emergency text messages urging them not to move due to the fire northwest of Deilesi and urging them to follow the instructions of the authorities.
